The book series Nkọwa Asụsụ Igbo was conceived from the need to revive the gradually dying Igbo language especially for children born and raised outside Igbo land to parents whose busy lives involve progressively fewer interactions with the Igbo language. The books are written in line with curriculum prescribed by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) from Basic 1 to Basic 6. They are simplified with descriptive illustrations and English translations, making it an easy read for children in basic education. Each class/stage has a textbook and an equally illustrative work book. It aims to achieve a sustained interest in the use of the Igbo Language through practical interactive lessons, connecting the children to their everyday world.
