I am still studying them, but I think mosquitos are not after biting humans. Just imagine if there were 100 continuous days of sunlight, they wouldn't be entering houses but rather basking in the sun somewhere, and that's why we don't know where they go in the day time. I think they need energy for survival and the sun provides that but when the sun starts dimming at dusk, they follow the source of light inside our homes, but then quickly realize that electricity can't power them so they seek human energy by biting. Essentially, 2 other effective ways against them is to shut door at 5/6pm if possible and shut curtains so that they will not see/seek a new light source into the room. most equipment used to eliminate them are usually light sources that zap them on arrival.  I also used to worry about wall geckos until I discovered their modus operandi: Seal holes and turn off lights when not in use once it is 5/6pm.
