Cold/Cough Natural Remedy

A typical synthetic cold med has sweet base (to sooth and flavor), depressant (to relax/sedate the CNS), expectorant (to loosen mucus and easily expel it), cough suppressant (to prevent cough reflex), decongestants (for stuffy nose), antihistamines (counteract flare ups), and pain/fever reducers/relievers.

So if you prefer a natural remedy, the list above can be a guide to knowing what you need, but it is not exhaustive. This is why people buy more meds to add including antibiotics. Antibiotics is not recommended for frequent use. Adding natural antibiotics (antimicrobial as below) will definitely help and augment the body's immune system. Below are some of the natural remedy that have worked for some people:

Rest, Relaxation, and proper Hygiene.

Hot Water, Hydration, Hot Drinks and Hot Soups.

Honey, Lemon, Ginger, and Garlic Warm Drink, which are all antimicrobial and more.

Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar (both are antimicrobial and more, each a tablespoonful) in a cup of hot/warm water.

Remember that coughing, sneezing, blowing, etc., are a part of the healing process to expel the build up, so do not suppress it, but get help when they wont stop.
