10 Proven Ways to Care for Your Teeth

 

1. Brush regularly such as 2 or 3 times daily, with a non-sugar anti-cavity toothpaste that lathers very well. 


2. Use a soft or extra-soft strength slim toothbrush as applicable, except prescribed otherwise. Best to change your toothbrush every month, or immediately it loses it's function (usually in 2-3 months)


3. Use a Mouthwash liquid to rinse your mouth after brushing. It is not advisable to use a mouthwash without first brushing your teeth


4. Floss regularly with the right tools, but don't overdo it because excessive flossing can damage the gums


5. Take vitamin and mineral supplements daily, preferably prescribed by your doctor, especially vitamin C


6. Eat a well balanced diet, and avoid sugar


7. See your Dentist regularly (or twice a year) to examine your teeth for treatment, clean it professionally, fill in gaps, and get prescriptions like antibiotics (e.g. Amoxicillin) if cavity or infection is present


8. Avoid chewing on hard objects or food, if possible


9. Use prescribed or recommended tooth devices from your Dentist, to keep your teeth in good shape for healthy functioning


10. Find a toothpaste that meets your needs, and vary them often as needed e.g. sensitive care toothpaste, enamel strengthening toothpaste, and/or gum regrow/health toothpaste.
